What's up guys, this is my first time joining any Web Design / Development forums. Been browsing through a few threads and I can already tell I will be spending a lot of time here. Looking forward to learning and sharing my experiences!
Hello! I've been making a living from web design / development for a few years now. I'm always looking to improve my all-around skills, but mostly in the design department. Off-topic, I took a look at qwikad.com, out of curiosity how long did it take to build up the directory (if you don't mind me asking)
Hello, I was living in Texas before for a couple of years. I went to DBU for my certificate then moved back to California. Welcome to Digital Point! I hope you find what you need here.
No, I don't mind. My wife and I started it back in 2012. Time is pretty much all it takes. It's kind of grown on its own. When we first stared Google was still very generous with their organic traffic and that gave us the initial boost. I actually joined this forum a couple days after the launch, thus my handle. Are you thinking about starting one?
Thanks for the welcome. I had plans of moving to Los Angeles but that fell through. It seems like web designers / developers are paid more out there. Is that right?
I was just curios as to what it took, just sparked my interested. Does a site like that require dedicated hosting?
In my case yes. I was on a shared server for a while though. Eventually, I ran into the issue of the site being down several times a day (CPU was running high), so I switched.
That's very correct. If you have the skillset and the passion, you can net a very high paying job out here in LA or any tech area.
