The marketplace has been rearranged a bit... Domains and sites can be filtered a lot better now under the Marketplace tab up top. For example for sites: https://marketplace.digitalpoint.com/sites Digital goods (eBooks, Templates, Scripts, Add-Ons/Plug-Ins, etc.) can be sold in the new digital goods marketplace here: https://marketplace.digitalpoint.com/ The digital goods marketplace handles payment processing (via PayPal, licensing [including license renewals], distribution of files, etc). Sellers can also optionally include an affiliate percentage for referrals to their product, which the system will pay out as affiliate commissions. Certain areas of the "old" marketplace are being closed... specifically the old digital goods areas (Scripts, eBooks and Templates). Some areas of the old marketplace require domain ownership verification in order to post a thread in it (Sites, Domains, Link Sales, Web Hosting, Link Exchange, etc.) This should cut down on fraud and duplicate threads (the system won't allow a duplicate thread to be posted).
Sorry if it's a wrong place to make suggestions. Today I've found 4 new alerts on the Marketplace menu item. On "Items You Have Won" page I see 4 old items I won about a year ago. Those items are now listed as unpaid and I don't know how to fix it. All 4 payments took place outside the forum as the buyers didn't have their PayPal accounts linked.
What if someone doesn't want to list the domain name in the thread? I liked it when people had the option to verify or not verify.
They can create a blog and put it for sale there I suppose... but they wouldn't be able to sell it here. It never was an option. But you can filter to only show premium here: https://marketplace.digitalpoint.com/sites
I tired uploading a theme to add for sale but the upload doesn't finish. The size of the whole zip is only about 1 MB so there should not be a big problem.
I am using newest FF version on Mac and no it does not give any error the download just doesn't finish and is displayed as uploading but for like 5 minutes or longer, that's when I stopped waiting.
If they support chained payments, it would be a possibility, but without chained payments it wouldn't even be technically possible without removing functionality of the marketplace. The only one I've heard of that might is Amazon's... https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdui/business?sn=devfps/o
Paypals weaknesses are that its not available to everyone everywhere and does not allow users to pay with common payment methods like online banking / SEPA, other popular e-wallets, offline payments. Offering more payment methods should increase DP income. Paypal alone is a handicap and prevents part of your users from paying. I know Novalnet is working on chained payments: http://www.novalnet.com/ They offer 85 payment methods. (including all credit cards, retail vouchers, online banking, e-wallets, mobile and pretty much any popular payment method) Another interesting party is https://www.emerchantpay.com/ They offer over 70 payment methods. Then there is Playspan, which has been bought by VISA in order to tailor to online communities, content publishers and gaming sites: http://www.playspan.com/ Playspan offers over 100 payment methods. All 3 companies are likely to make changes to tailor your needs.
Ya... Hopefully they support chained payments in the future. But unfortunately it's not even a option to look at until they support chained payments.
Hi, I'm trying to list a script in the new marketplace but the option isn't available in the 'category' drop-down. See the category list on the following url and try to select 'Scripts': https://marketplace.digitalpoint.com/scripts.3/add I assume the sub categories haven't been added yet. There's zero listings for scripts in the new marketplace so I assume it's not just me. Thanks, Adam.
Looks a lot better than the previous in my opinion. Great work, I hope it goes well for you and allows people to better manage sales.
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. You can't post at all in the 'scripts' section without a sub-category. The new market place overview page doesn't have any items for 'scripts' as a result: https://marketplace.digitalpoint.com/ Try to post a new script and you'll see what I mean.
When I first saw it, I was very impressed. I love it and I think it's a fantastic system. The thing I love most is the filter.
yeah the guy is write the market place doesn't allow to submit under the main categories if a category like scripts doesn't have a subcategory so we can't submit under it so now i can't submit a script to the script category because i can't pick it it's a little bug
