Hello, just to give everyone a little background, I graduated with my marketing degree in May of 2008. Soon after I actually took a job with a company that runs truck stops that focus on video poker as a general manager. I recently was given a promotion to a different, larger location. This company devotes very little research to marketing but they did have a marketing director who very recently switched positions. I have been aggressively pursuing this position and it is starting to look very promising. I have several ideas for promotions and ways to show them I can make them money and change their overall perception of what a marketing director does. The reason I came to this forum was to get some feedback on what y'all think are some highly visible somewhat of a low cost ways to show upper management you are doing your job.
Use some kind of PPC campaign with tracking. Maybe offer coupons for something at the stop, and track how many people come in and use it. I don't know, thats a tough one.
PPC is probaly a good idea, my first goal is to get these guys a website. It still shocks me that a multi million dollar a year company with hundreds of employees doesnt have a website.
I would say mostly offline as I don't see the Internet as a very good medium for a truck stop. Now if course I am open to suggestions, but our big bosses aren't very Internet minded.
