They used to. You worked through a subsidiary company of theirs. They did editing, layout, covers, barcoding, etc. for a fee. Now that company switched merged operations, to what I believe is no longer another Amazon company, so there is not a guarantee Amazon will even publish it. I have a contract, yet to fulfill, but do not know if it is worth the time. Before, it was not an exclusive, so you could. Probably a better alternative is Amazon Kindle, which it easy to get approval. Sorry, I have let it ride for awhile, and I am not exactly certain. Just that their policy has tightened from getting to much junk from rehash authors. What is your take on Scribd? Any good?
I want to thank you again Omar. Too many people think that writing is only about articles. Is is nice to see an informative post that is different. It seems you are drawing a big interest while being VERY helpful. Would you like to explain how people can take a PLR ebook, make changes, and become an author for a giveaway book for their website. This seems an easy way for many to see immediate benefits. Omar, Keep giving your input, your post was greatly needed. A breath of fresh air.
I hope soon we can buy get few more features on that market and webmaster will be able to hire tut writers easily .
@dyadvisor I think a good way to get started is to see how competitors work. For example, I did a short tour and found out that Smashing Magazine is publishing its' books there. It seems like Envato and Smashing Network work together, but it's probably a good idea to pitch your ebook idea to the reviewers and ask them about price, content... to get feedback. You aren't free to decide the price of the tutorial/article that you sell, but I think for ebooks, it might be different and you can explain your pricing. And for the Envato Marketplace, you can sell your items somewhere else, but then you are not an exclusive author and you only get 25% of the sale. (comparing to 50%-70% for exclusive authors)
