Envato, a cool company encouraging freelancing and self-employment, has launched its' new marketplace to sell tutorials. You create a tutorial and sell it for $3-$6. The marketplace is brand new now, so there is few buyers, but in the future it can turn into a big success. As a new seller, you get 50% back for each sale. Let's assume you have 10 tutorials pricing $4 average. That's $40 worth. If you get a sale for each tutorial everyday (very feasible), you make $20/day, which is not bad. Passive Income! Great share Omar. It is people like you who increase the values of a forum. Will check it out and see if they send payments via Paypal or direct through wire transfer.
They have lot of available payment options: PayPal, moneybookers, Payoneer and SWIFT. See? They are really a cool and great community.
Thanks once again. Initially, I plan to purchase one of their articles and determine their quality. With approximately 150+ articles to complete by the end September 2010, I really wish I had 4 hands.
Articles must be really thorough. You should really provide value, otherwise, it won't be accepted. It's a good idea to check some tutorials before writing your own. Another suggestion is to subscribe to Nettuts+ (only $9) which has a long list of tutorials. For the kickback you'd get, I guess something between $100 and $500 of sales for each tutorial. Certainly, you'll find difficulties as a beginner, especially the market is still new.
Considering the other marketplaces they have and their sizes, they'll keep flooding that one with and traffic and potential buyers.
Ok, I would try it, I was trying to sell clickbank products but couldn't sell any, suggest me some ways to sell this type of products!
I think you should find the right market for your product rather than trying in an incompatible market. What are your books about? Do they offer value? Are they in the required and anticipated quality by Envato? If so, the Tuts market place may be a good choice for you.
I like your post Omarbid. This is a great alternative, affordable concept. The upfront price (not including time) to professionally publish a paperback book on Amazon often exceeds over $800.00. That means quite a few sales to turn any profit. Packaging 10 researched articles together using Open Office makes an easy ebook. I am copying your info and passing it on. Does your link as set up, give you any credit? If it does, you certainly deserve it. Excellent post, and helpful tips!
I'm actually working on writing an ebook but I'm not sure about selling it. I hope they have a strict approval process, because buying tutorials that are not any good would defeat the purpose since there are free tutorials and ebooks every where.
I have included two links, one without the affiliate and the other with my affiliate code. However, I only get commission when you deposit money (buyer) and not when you earn (as an author).
Yes they have a strict approval process and your tutorials shouldn't be what could be available on the web for free.
Is there any other similar market place? I guess I saw a marketplace similar to the one you provided but haven't bookmarked it. That site was a place for selling website templates.
have you tried lulu.com? It's a cheaper alternative to Amazon, and I know someone who has published a number of books through them at very low cost (except time of course).
You are correct Content Boss there are alternatives and often they are much less costly. The only reason to use Amazon, is if your book is on a unique business subject, or something very original. The benefit is their tremendous customer base, plus the recognition weight of being an Amazon author. I have 2 other Ebooks I am working on now, a service like lulu.com would probably be the place for one.. Despite internet tales, being an author brings very little money for the time invested. The reward is often more of personal satisfaction than a thriving income. That is why Omar's suggestion is great for the professional guide, and lulu for the one on murder conspiracy. Thanks for the tip, I will check them out. Often a 30 page truly helpful guide at $7 earns more than a 120 page one at $17, plus the expenses are must less.
I just want to know if Amazon allows you to publish your book with another publisher. For Envato, you are not allowed to sell it somewhere else.
