New links effect in Google

    Hello,

Can someone tell me how fast the new links affect SERPS and how fast?

Some good links, once they are indexed, can make a difference? Some people say at least 1-2 months should pass before real effects (not spikes) can be seen. What do you think?

Well the first link through which your website gets indexed puts you in google, that means that affect starts a day after the first link.
Not sure for the others, but I have heard that high PR link has affected some websites position in few days too.

i think it depents on the power of backlinks.

you can get problem if you have 100 pr 5 links in one day but you will not get any problem , if you get 100 pr0 links in one day

I didn't have 100, more like 5. I think that cannot be harmful. Which is a good rate for new links? How many per week?

For new sites I start usually with free directory submissions around 10/day.
When I can see between 500 - 1000 on Yahoo, I accelerate with a "moderate" pace.
I agree with what was said before, 100 PR 5 in one day could bring trouble; 1000 PR 0 might be ok??
To my opinion, it's not so much a question of the numbers, but caused by the fact that those 100 PR 5s are crawled various times a day, while the PR 0s will be "found" step by step during months to come.

It all depends on the competitivity of the keyphrase

If you submit your link in any site or directory, it is very important that the site or directory must be follow all ethical seo rules and it cached regularly by search engines.

I think you will have to wait at least a month or two to see any ranking changes.

I'll have to agree with this statement. Links from pr0 pages take long for google to find unless that page itself has some good links pointing to it. Higher pr pages are looked at more often so the chances of your link being found soon are good.

My tip would be that if you want new links to be picked up a little faster then get yourself some blog post, this will help out alot in terms of climbing the search engines faster because blogs are being recrawled all the time regardless of the pr so links are normally picked up rather quickly.

Free directories are just crap. I have submitted to 100 of them 3-4 months ago and none of them added my link. It seems free stuff is not good.

Other thing, my pages are going in and out of supplemental index. Why is that? Once I am out, what am I doing there again in 1 month? Is this because my site is new? How was this 2 years ago? Same policy?
