New Laser Mouse (advise)

I'm thinking of buying a new mouse as my old Microsoft explorer 2.0 has started to perform poorly. I had a look at some Logitech mice today and I came accross this one:
    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/GB/EN,CRID=2135,CONTENTID=10917

Now I'm not specialized in this and so would like some advice. I like the design and the laser capability of the one I linked above but didn't really have time to examine others.
I'm not necessarily looking for a game mouse with thousands of buttons on it but a good response time one to work on my wood surfaced desk.
Also, it MUST to be wireless and would prefer laser as it's more precise.

    Any advise please?

I have been using an MX 1000 mouse for almost a year and I have not had many problems with it.
