Domain News: .LA domain names now available!

I just got an email an hour back from Register.com mentioning the release of this domain name for Los Angeles. The Goldrush period is on so the domains are quite pricey - $85

Also, I checked Godaddy and they're NOT selling .la domains as of now.

Thought I should mention it here. Personally I find the price ridiculous and moreover the premium domains seem to have already been sold so I'll wait for prices to cool down.

Whats next now? A domain Name for New York?

As I know .la was available long time ago at name.com
Mos of premium .la domains are taken from the nic.la http://www.la/premium

Which extention keeps coming? .la has been around since 1996! It's the official extention for Laos but has been branded for Los Angeles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.la
