    Hey all...

After my site got few hacker attacks I decided to reinstall Joomla but to try to keep all the content/menu items as before.

Anything I need to know before deleting all my files and installing a fresh new Joomla 1.0.11 ? Is it going to overwrite my current DB ?

Or I am going to see any content/menu-items changes in the new upcoming website ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Guy.

backup your database from cpanel ,full backup.

what i did for my site was
downloaded my sql database all then see which modules i have been using and noted all ,then just replace my existing joomla with new ,i mean over right old with new,
then replaced new sql database with my old database from phpmyadmin manually

OK, let me know if what I have in mind is good enough.

I will write down all the components that I need to reinstall (I don't want any of what I have right now).

I will delete everything from the website and backup the entire DB.

Install the new version of Joomla, than put back the old DB and reinstall the compents and Mambots.

Is reinstalling the new components will leave the everything like it was in the past ?
For example : ArtBanners - will keep all my client data ?

    Thanks
    Guy
