    There's 1 ad per post.

In the quote (as you can see) advertising was linked :)

I don't think they are much annoying.. as long as they don't cause any kind of interruption while reading posts.. :)

I've tweaked it a little bit so if you are logged in, you should see a shadow behind any inline text ads. I may adjust it further, but want to let it run a bit like this to see how it goes. I definitely want users to be able to tell it's an ad, but at the same time I don't want it to be obnoxious. Also, inline text ads don't show inside any premium member's post.

I don't see a shadow behind the text ads. I just logged out and back in to double check. While logged out I didn't see those links at all... are they only supposed to show when logged in?

I see the shadow and I'm using Google Chrome. The contextual ads are looking a bit more awkward this time but then again, I hope it lessens the confusion of the people here thinking that some people are abusing their posts with their own advertisements! :D

I forgot Firefox has a separate CSS function for shadows. Should be fixed now.

    Ok this is better :)

In Chrome it shows a box around the whole keyword... Not very nice looking but clear enough not to click unless it interests.

Everything is open to suggestions... :) If someone comes up with something better, it's easy enough to adopt.

Are you using ABP? The ads might have been blocked and disabled from your view.

Yes I am using ABP however I don't think it would block DP's ads, I still see the banner ads (the user brought ones, not adsense ones) just no the keyword ads. I saw them when they were first brought in, since yesterday it's only today that I haven't seen them, also I just went browsing through another 20 threads and nothing which is strange..

I think it looks cool... I'll need to hang out a bit today to see if it's annoying or not, but it certainly stands out!

Thank you for listening to us! Seriously, had you left it, I'm sure many would have left here.

Is it intentional that guests and non-logged in members don't see the ads?

Personally it doesn't bother me what it looks like because I know its an advert. However if you are looking for suggestions, I think the class in navbit, breadcrumb used already on the forum would look very nice and simple, its the one with rounded green corners onmouseover (hover). I think its padding is on 2px & 4px but you could make that a little smaller maybe 1px to keep inline with the posted text.

EDIT: Actually it has square corners in IE and rounded in FF, both look ok and not too cumbersome.

I actually don't mind the Inline ads or any ads for that matter. Digitalpoint is providing a free forums service that we all love , so why would you care if there are some inline ads. Its not a big deal! Many large sites have inline ads now.

Looks like digitalpoint decided to go with an in house version instead of infolinks , vibrant media or kontera.

my vote is keep the ads. i dont mind them being underlined, is there a way to double underline paid ads and single underline user links? Is it so that paid link ads are shadowed? maybe double underline is better.

We experimented with the double underline and they were just plain ugly. We went with the shadow for ad links because they stand out so users know it's an ad, but at the same time it's not overly ugly.
