I agree with Carlx. PPC is not something you'll learn in 30 minutes or getting bits and pieces here. No one is going to tell you step by step how to do it, at least not for free.

Start with Google itself, get books (Perry Marshall's, mine at link below), join sites like PPC Coach/Classroom. You need to really educate yourself using one or more of these resources. Forums like this one are good but you need more.

Or you will probably burn a hole in your pocket and give up. Spend a little money on an adwords guide, it is worth it.

I suggest Perry Marshall's Guide to Google Adwords or PPC Classroom. Then, maybe PPC Ninja.

Adwords is a tricky game but it's how I make my loot online. By far the best way to advertise. Just need to learn it first...

With Google AdWords, you can create and run ads for your business, and you'll only pay when people click your ads.

AdWords ads are displayed along with search results when someone searches Google using one of your keywords. That way, you'll be advertising to an audience that's already interested in your business. You can also choose to display your ads on content sites in the growing Google Network. And, you can choose the exact content placements where you'd like your ad to appear, or you can let contextual targeting match your keywords to content.

    Hi Melissa,
Adwords in itself is not too complicated. What requires time is to do it well because in the beginning it WILL require and investment and you will make mistakes. That´s fine as I think an adwords strategy is one of the important pillars of internet marketing revenue and it´s very targeted. Question is how to learn fast without to many difficulties and mistakes. I took some classes from PPC classroom (specifically on PPC). Those helped a lot. I would say apply a strategy and don´t do just anything. The wisdom of PPC does not lie in one rule...it´s too complicated for that, but the main thing here is RELEVANCY. Be relevant in these three steps.
    1. relevancy of the converting PPC keywords (spy a bit on PPC competitorws, use a tool like Traffic Travis
    2. relevancy of the ad (circulate and measure ad CTR and convertion)
    3. relevancy of landing page.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Hi Milisa,

My only advice to you is to start small and try to run your campaign for 3 months before you increase your bids on keywords. This should save you some money. :D

first decide which keywords would fit your website best then check the pagerank of the websites listed in the top of the search results. that would give you a pretty good idea of which keywords you need to market. the good keywords usually go to the high pagerank websites, meaning they're good.

Yea you need to run it for awhile to collect some data, Otherwise you won't know which keywords are worth spending the money on.
