    Hello Guys,

I just bought a new HP USB flash Drive 4GB (520INR). I tried connecting with two of my laptops and its not even detecting. I don't know whats wrong. Its not working. Though it is having 2 years warranty I doubt I have to do something to make it work (some lock or so)

    Experienced guys please help me.

    Thank you very much!

MODEL: hp USB Flash Drive v155w
MY laps are W7 and W XP

Do a google search for your flash drive's Name/Model Number - it appears as though lots of people are having issues with it.

I would take it back, or try to take advantage of your warranty.

    Guys,

the issue was very simple. But its normal i think because I could see as much 'similar queries'. As I could not find any solutions there, I feel this thread may help others if they feel the same problem. The metal parts should be facing you while you inserting the drive to the usb. But normally we will think the other way because all other pen drives are so.

PS: Hp could at least point a mark or arrow pointing the direction.

I'd love to see a photo of how you managed to connect a USB drive "the wrong way". :)

I don't know how you connected the USB wrongly, USB can't be inserted into the USB port if you insert it wrongly or inversely..... So there is no way to insert it wrongly..

See this is the picture of the drive with both the sides.

Tell me how will you insert the drive. Normally people think to insert the drive making the metal strips facing down. But that's a wrong way we should not insert so. We have to insert the metal strip facing us.

the metal strip should face upwards ( when u insert it in USB then, u must be able to see the metal part). If it still doesn't work then ask your vendor to replace it...

    Ekography,

warranty will not work for a 'working pendrive' :D. I don't think that company should replace a perfectly working drive. But of course they have to explain well how to use it.
