New Hotmail beta looks ugly

Anyone seen the new hotmail beta or is using it?

I just got 'upgraded' to the new beta and I hate it. It looks ugly, it has advertisements all over the place, and it has NO imagination or color... its just too plain for me.

And I liked the simple functionality of the old hotmail.

I sent them feedback, but I doubt they read it.

I must not have got it yet. Looks the same to me. I get all my hotmail messages through MS Outlook so it wont affect me much

good article, though I think he was wrong in saying that you need to purchase hotmail plus to access it from outlook. Thats how I do it and I don't have the paid version.

If HoTMaiL ends up like the beta suggests then it is going to look an awfull like Telstra Bigpond WebMail. Australia's largest telecommunications company.
Very plain and basic looking, I like the functionality though.. very much like a version of outlook online.

Well from the screen shot it looks simple and smart. I personally like it.

I know why it looks like that. They are trying to integrate it with www.live.com and www.start.com (Other MSN sites). Check those layouts. They look exactly the same.

I don't use any free email accounts other than Gmail. The others are a haven for spam.

The new hotmail does look better but it still doesnt compete with gmail.

GMail and all other email systems need to focus on spam even more than they currently do. Rather than work on new ways to display information.

I've been BETA testing this for a few weeks now, and must say it does look a bit on the "plain" side of things, rememember though this is just a BETA test. I'm sure they're working on things, such as colour.

I've left some feedback about the colour, regarding the dullness, as it's a BETA people like to keep things simple at first.

I'm glad I use Gmail - that new hotmail look just doesn't appeal to me at all...
