Hello Internet marketers! I am confess and my company owner believe that Google is general search engine and leave it and promote site for Alexa and he need Alexa ranking only. Mr. Umesh said to my company owner that Google is a general search engine, no business without Alexa ranking. I know Alexa ranking will not help business because some experts suggested me how to get Alexa ranking easily. Do you believe that Alexa ranking will help to get business? Which one search engines is good for business? Have you strong idea? please explain here. Should I promote to Alexa and yahoo for business and should I leave Google or not? The company site is receiving traffics from 1300 keywords now. I hope, I'll get good suggestions from you.
Google will help you get traffic, and traffic = sales. Alexa gets you bragging rights on forums. Not aware you can eat bragging rights, or use them to pay your rent. Unless you can offload the site to some sucker who attaches financial value to something so easy to fake as an Alexa rank.
Basically, Alexa ranking suggesst about your current traffic gain ranks in a period of time and determines if you are one of those in top 100, 000 website with substantial traffic visitors. But you can't really compare Alexa between Major Searcg Engines since they market different concept in internet marketing.
Alexa is only a very vague way of estimating a site's traffic and shouldn't attach much value at all.
Even PR is fading away as an all-important metric and Google themselves are telling Webmasters not to focus so much on its value. (You'll notice it's no longer in Webmaster tools...) Obviously it's still a good way to measure the success of your efforts, but I just mean to say it isn't the only thing you should be working on.
if you want business you should aim for higher SERP on google. once u get high traffic from there alexa rank should follow.
Of course PR is not the only important thing, in the end its about the traffic and how you generate it.
Google is your real business. You can focus to google first, and yahoo in second. Alexa will follow automatically.
All you should focus on is getting traffic to your site. No one outside the Internet world even knows what the Alexa ranking is, nor do they really care what it is. The traffic should be targeted traffic too!
google help to drive traffic and alexa help to get sponsors or advertisers so both are complementary to each other.......
Forget about Alexa! Focus on google search engine optimization, first try to get more traffic from your existing keywords(first page ranking) then try to optimize for other relevant keywords, and finally you will get more and more visitors and that will result a very good natural Alexa ranking! Again, focus on Google SEO and you will get better Alexa ranking
Those that know about Alexa is likely to be a webmaster. Not that wide broad audience to brag too really and what matters most is the audience in the real world. Sure Alexa helps but it not essential.
Alexa is all about the Toolbar. Alexa rankings are based on users with the Alexa Toolbar installed that visit your site. Generally you want to be under 100k. There are some cheats out there if that's what you're looking for. Otherwise, as said above... Just focus on backlinks & PR and Alexa will follow.
