    The placement is nice. Try to change the background color of the ads to your site background color.

    I'd recommend losing the link unit too - I only ever use a link unit if the links are horizontal - the reason? When you look at your link unit the first thing you see is the horrible bold black 'Ads by Goooogle' label.

    looks a lot better now. don't be afraid to experiment every now and again with your placement to increase clicks

    Thanks for the ideas! I had added the link unit yesterday, with the reasoning that if it's there then somebody might click it, but if it's not then obviously it can't be clicked :)

    Maybe I'll try placing it horizontal above the header.

    you can use 336*280 instead of 728*90
