I have an existing domain that I have been using for over two years. lets call it parents.com it ranks ok on google. I recently purchased some new GTLDs lets call those: newyork.parents newyork.mom Both GTLDs have a 301 redirect to parents.com. Would I be able to build backlinks and get better search engine ranking if I started generating backlinks to the new GTLDs? If I were in the New York Market and wanted to use the GTLDs as keywords would that work so that newyork.mom would be more prominent on search when someone did a search for "new York mom? Or should I just invest more time on building up parents.com?
As per my suggetions If your thinking to rank these 2 domains newyork.parents newyork.mom Then you need to first remove 301, write at least 1 article and post in domain, work on some backlink OR just make some web 2.0
If you have a 301 redirect in place then it would basically be the same thing as building a backlink for the main domain. Google doesn't use the TLD as a ranking factor: searchengineland.com/google-says-keywords-tld-part-url-ignored-ranking-purposes-251971
I'm agree with miguel84...If you're ranking on Google and doing good then there's no need to take such steps. Focus on your main DOMAIN. As I know, Google doesn't give special advantage to tld. It depends upon you
