Google's War Against Forest loggers with its new technology

San Francisco - Illegal logging actions in developing country now is very rapid. This forest destruction would bring a variety of adverse effects, such as landslides disasters, floods, extinction of biological diversity, smog, increase global emissions, and so forth.

Departure from the concern for increasing deforestation in the face of this earth, the giant Google presents a tool that will help researchers and environmentalists monitor forest conditions over the Internet.

Parties Google hopes technology can help stop forest destruction in the world. The presence of this technology will help researchers analyze satellite imagery data and process information such as location and extent of destruction and the measurement of any forest regeneration.

The system is hosted on Google's cloud, and have the ability to display the forest destruction is happening, in seconds. So, if there is logging, can be immediately identified and stopped as soon as possible.

Quoted from AFP on Friday (11/12/2009) prototype of Google's technology is displayed in the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. The technology is currently tested by Google and partners will eventually be available as a non-profit service.
