Hey guys! I had the pleasure of giving this a test just before it came out and i wanted to say its a great program that could be very beneficial to us all. Since it just came out, I figured I would give you guys a heads up, to check it out.. Site Map Equalizer This program scans your website and combines a Google sitemap for you in the required XML code. It also can be exported into html form so you don't have to do that yourself! My personal favorite part about this program is the fact that it lets you know of all of your 404 errors within your website as well as other key factors such as parameters that google may ignore within your link name, it checks for meta tags, titles, descriptions and lets you know which pages pages within your site need fixed! It's a great tool and I highly recommend everyone check it out. Best of luck!
Is there a tool that creates sitemaps and shows, for each page, the title and description text and the PR? And, is free? Yesterday while uploading some sites to a directory I was surprised to see that some had no titles, others had no or outdated descriptions. I'd like a way to find all my pages that need those tweaks.
Wow a great review with an affiliate link. It might be Ok The Gsite one is free but download it now & it expires in June Sorry it won't always be free. It'll end up the same as soon as they fix the bugs.
Hi Olney, the author of the programs says that is because he wants the user to use the latest version. He was thinking of sell a "big-website" version with a MSSQL-Backend and that stuff but I don't know what the status of that version is. Best regards, Tobias
I found a really good google sitemap generator at www.xml-sitemaps.com. You get output of 3 dif. files, sitemap.xml, urllist.txt, and sitemap.html. Its free to use on the site. ________________ TheWire, www.yahoowire.com
But when you want to download it, you have to pay for it. Only the online version is free but limited - which makes only sense for a little website with only a few pages.
The GSiteCrawler(*) will do that for you. You can crawl your site and then export all this information into an Excel file and check it there. It reads URL, title, description, keywords, last-change-date, size, etc. Just export it to Excel, use the Autofilter and find your problem-zones. It's great to recognize a template-gone-bad as well (same description or keywords over several URLs). (*) shameless plug, it's mine , it's free though.
Hi Jamie Sorry, I don't know of any native Mac Google Sitemaps generators (other than the PHP based tools that should run when you have php installed...). You'll probably need to use a server based or online system (or of course VirtualPC).
I wish GSiteCrawler was a multi-threaded application - it takes forever, but I like the conveniance of the upload straight afterwards. Pete
You can use www.bwdow.com/googlesitemaps.php to generate sitemaps. Its for 1000 links only. If your site is little such ass 500-800 pages then you can use this tool too.
Thanks for the information.. I am sure that these links are usefull for someone. But I use a sitemap plugin from my CMS Joomla.
