    yes i think, we can used good length of meta which cover sell oritend content so its convert to lead

    lol, it will fill up the page, so those before position 3 wont be seen without scrolling bad "improvement"

    Interestingly, those longer snippets don't seem to be taken from the meta description but from sections of the content.

    Google doesn't talk about the lenght of the description in the meta tag, but only about the snippet it shows in serp.

    I think we must test a page with longer and smaller description and see what happens.

    This is something that will need to be tested for any SEO advantage but Google is looking at the content of the page more than ever, not the Meta Description.

    the dont use only "meta description", so you can't really manipulate this. What they do is crawl your content, analyse it and pick up most related pieces from the whole page, basically with words related to users search.

    Right, it depends by the queries of the users. I think Google shows the snippets often, then the descrription and rarely the dmoz description.

    thanks for posting the link, though i dont think this is going to have any effecr ranking - maybe just with very specific long tail terms that will now be more accurately described
