If you are making money from Google Adsense Referrals then another opportunity has opened for you. In addition to AdSense, AdWords, Firefox with Google Toolbar, and Google Pack, you can now refer your users to Google Checkout through AdSense. "Checkout gives your users a faster, safer, and more convenient way to shop online. OK, that sounds great for them, but what do you get out of it? Well, every time you refer a user to Google Checkout, you make a little money. It's a simple process that includes all of three steps: 1. You place the Checkout referral button on your site. 2. Someone clicks on the button, signs up as a buyer with Google Checkout using a valid U.S. credit card, and completes a purchase of at least $10 before shipping and tax through Checkout within 90 days. (The current $10 minimum purchase corresponds to our existing $10 promotion for new buyers, so this amount may change in the future.) 3. You earn $1. It's that simple. Please note that Checkout referrals are currently only available for U.S. publishers, and Google Checkout is currently only available for buyers with a U.S. credit card. We hope to make both Checkout and Checkout Referrals available in more countries soon." So what do you think?
It looks like a terrible deal to me. Not only do you have to get someone to buy something, but you also have to make them use Google Checkout. If the commission where $10 it might be worth it. But not for a dollar.
Agreed. I think it wreaks of desperation on the part of Google. They're flogging a dead horse on this one when so many people are used to and satisfied customers of PayPal. Stick to plugging FF instead - a worthwhile referral product!
I think checkout might catch on eventually, they are just trying to bring it out slow buy steady, once they add support for additional countries and currencies I'm sure they will push it more and it will be more successful.
If I understand correctly. For every $10 purchase the publishers get $1. What about $1.000 purhases?!
It's a minimum of a $10 purchase, not $1 for every $10 something costs. If someone were to buy a $1,000 item, you would only get a $1 .
i think they should pay up $1 for every person who uses it, no matter if its $1, or $10 without any limited time constraint. Its also on available for US publishers. Pierce
Woou this is not good. I dont think that anyone will advertise it! Who is going to promote it?! G! has to pay more money to its publishers! Anyway I think that G! will pay more in the future once they may dont want to "explode" the new product in the meantime
