does anyone see this new buttons behind search results... you can move up search results and you can remove it? i dont saw that few hours ago? basicaly you can click promote and site will go up in search results? does this affect global positioning or is just localy for yourself? i think it would be catastrophy if it reacts with real site positions
Hi, Wow strange I ain't seeing that.. everybodys talking about it, and searchWiki but nothing has changed for me And I think if they close it, it's only for the own user, not for the hole world Greetz
locuz is bang on the nail When i am using gmail and then switch to google in another tab i get these options when i log out of gmail - the up or down buttons disappear! Well it looks like google have created a user based search engine (based on their love affair with digg) this will no doubt influence search engine positions - whether this is GLOBALLY or LOCALLY just to the user when logged in remains THE big question..... more fun ahead
That's just personalized search wiki, it won't effect public rankings at all. Check out Google Blog for more info. You can't use it to boost your own rankings or penalize a competitor for example Whatever you do, it effects your own results when logged into a Google Account.
oh i don't see it, how its posssible, let me check all the settings first of all and I will update it
anybody know how to remove your own selected promoted sites? I clicked my own site, but now i want to check my own rankings its a real pain in the butt to have to logout all over the show......they really should have thought of this and put an extra button there to clear your options...grr.
Yeah I did this a few times before realising it only affected my results and not everybody else's Bottom of the page "see all my searchwiki results" then "restore"
From what I've read, at this time, this feature is limited to you only, it will not affect global standings. However, there is talk that down the road, Google may pool the data of all the people that use this feature and include it in their algorithm. Exactly how and when is not known.
