That's great that you have found a solution.
but doing business with already effected publishers - not ethical anyway. Shame on you.

 

I can suggest to all publishers that give more attention to bring down the bounce rate , It will increase your traffic heavily. I recently use a good technique which lower the bounce rate and eventually my traffic are more than previous.

This website gain visitors after new Google update (after PR update - Feb. 4th, Google launched new search update). Update started Feb. 5th and finished Feb. 7th.

May be Google search update is the reason but I change some basic layout which definitely helps me .


I have implemented same layout in my another website on Jan 28th , website traffic increased (but not as much which my first website experienced).

The technique is very simple - Changed theme layout completely and more & more options for visit my next page or next post. decreased page loading time by w3total cache and Memcache. (previously I only used Supercache).

 

I have already change my layout since the year starts. About you says w3total/memcache. I also have it long time ago. I have 1.6 sec load time in my site even with images.

theme selection and layout is very important and engage your visitors with more/next post options.
May be my website was compromised before and after I optimised it - traffic spiked.
However according to @popac suggestion , it may be also due to Google new algorithm update.


I suggest you to analysis your traffic with A/B testing for 2 or 3 theme and layout

Yes, google is violating copyrights a ton worldwide now.

There is a small but nice wordpress plugin named google break dance which redirects people who want to see a original size to your website instead of the black background and the image only
