I don't think anyone can give you an accurate representation of their algo. If I know, I would be rich by now :)

    Hi,
I was wondering if you could clarify what that means. . . to ping your site daily, and what cache has to do with pinging? Thank you very much.

As stated by some posters, only Google could answer the OP's question accurately. However, the more study and forum surfing I do, the more I am coming up with a "gut feeling" that content, which is already a major factor, will become increasingly important. Here's how I mean that:

Computer software will inevitably become more and more sophisticated. A combination of language experts and software designers will create algorithms that are steadily improving in their ability to read and understand the content of webpages. As that happens, the search process will become better able to locate the webpages that best match the surfers' keywords.

That is my sincere hope. It would be wonderful to be able to get search engine technology past the point where webmasters can game the system, and where the search engines themselves can more accurately discern the actual subtleties and nuances of a web page's content. It is something to hope for!

LSI has been brought up a lot by the people who seem to know a thing or two about seo.

Google has been using this since 2004...nothing new there.

There is a lot that is new in ranking. Too much to say in 1 post. So I will say it in one word and let your mind wander..."social". Google will release new technology publicly early in 2009. Part of this technology claims to read the content in videos.

I hope you're right, but only if they get REALLY sophisticated - the majority of what I do online is parody. Not sure how well a computer algorithm will ever "get" that.

Yes, that would be extremely difficult for a computer to sniff out the nuances of parody, irony, plays on words, etc. However, in the long run, if we humans can do it, I'm betting that computers will gradually draw closer to our human abilities. That time, though, is probably way out on the far horizon.

Having read some of the responses on this forum, I doubt whether we humans can sniff out the nuances of parody etc. ;)

i feel something google changed, updating interval, back links quality, rawling etc. Google degrease Bl value from forums, bcz many of my site having the same BL like 50-60 reduces the PR 5 to 2 and seeing many changes in the ranking .. Any how something they changed and don't know what is exactly and also advising to work on SEO regular basis

    Yes, google algorithm don't change.
They are evolutionary step by step .

I have a suggestion how to know something about their algorithm .
It takes you much time .
Using "goolge patent search" to search "google algorithm patents" and study them . You will find something useful . :D
