New Gmail Account - Forward a notice of mail to another account?

    Hello,

I have set up a Gmail account for a colleague who was having a problem sending and receiving email while traveling (i.e. using hotel networks). I told him I would set up the Gmail account and then turn on a forwarder from our email server so that any email that comes into his regular work account will be forwarded to this new Gmail account.

Is there a way to send a message to ANOTHER email account (his personal email account from his local ISP Karoo) saying that he has new messages on his Gmail account? He receives his personal email to his mobile phone so I was thinking that everytime a new email came into Gmail, it would notify him via his personal account on his mobile.

He was concerned that he didn't want to send replies from his personal email address hence the reason why we set up the Gmail account for him to use while he travels.

Any thoughts on how to set this up or if it is possible?

Thanks for any help or input!

    Cheers,

    Dave
