New Freelance Site... Connecting Outsourcing Employers and Professional Freelancers!

I have just completed the design of a new freelancer site. How do I get employers to post projects. I have had several visitors since I started advertising, but no actualy projects created. I want this site to be very professional and warrant valid projects to draw quality freelancers.
    Any suggestions would be great.
    Thanks

Maybe by contacting some employees. Send a brochure to employers in your area. Offline marketing is still the best.

You might not get employers interested until you have enough potential freelancers signed up with good credentials. Ask people providing services around places like DP to sign up as providers and when you reach a good mass, you should see more listings posted on the other end. Not sure on your site's policies, but I'd make both types of submissions free at least until you have enough to justify charging (not saying you are already). Can we see the url?

    A few things:

    1. Could you make the logo link to the home page? The links back really aren't visible enough, and that's the immediate reaction to go there when the home link is hidden.

    2. As I said, the nav links near the top don't stand out well. People might be more inclined to post if they're able to navigate a bit easier.

    3. On the profile pages, make the referral links live to make people's lives easier.

I registered, but obviously with no jobs yet, there's nothing going on. Go to places like www.craigslist.com, go to tech-heavy locations and post classified ads announcing people can advertise for IT positions for free. Also announce in writing sections (like NY, LA, etc would be good for that topic). That should get some signups. Post in the services area of DP offering the site service.

Maybe run a contest... like the first 10 projects posted will have no commission. What it would give you in the sense of a jumpstart would outweight the loss of commission probably. Or offer an incentive to get freelancers to sign up.

Thanks for the comments... I realized that I forgot to link the logo. Will address this asap. I also thought about Craigslist, but have only created my account there. I'll focus on that and the navigation this evening. Thanks for signing up and I really appreciate your opinion.
    Cheers
