Thanks robin! I just installed the latest firefox so I can check this and hopefully fix it! (it is real ugly with FF! thanks for not saying that and making just a nice remark )
I have been reading sitemap for a yr, on and off, sometimes dunno what i have read, dunno how to install, your site really great, it took only 20 minutes 4 me to digest everything, save me alot of time, what can i do 4 u sir as a return? u r the best.
usually how long it takes for google to index the page? I dunno my question is correct or not but wh I mean here is how long it takes for my site to get better spidered by google crawler?
sir, i tried to use your services, but got a message to " create an empty file "so we can check you are the real webmaster of this site." How do i create the file canadaupdates
The same way you would create any other file on your server. just this time don't put any text in it, and use the filename as shown on the screen. only reaseon for this is that spidering your site will generate (some) traffic, and we want to be sure you are the site owner/webmaster etc.
Hey man... For somebody with no clue on generating sitemap stuff, I would like to thank you. You've made my life a whole lot easier. Good stuff.
xboxundone , superpump and tom: thanks for the compliments. always nice to read that hard work is appreciated
seems like it works great just to let people know if you have large site could take a few days to create the site map... now what do i do with the output file? ( i am new to sitemaps... but i was expecting an html page output....)
Yeah, got that feedback a couple of times more... If you have like 5000 pages, it will take some time to spider them all. And I don't want to spend all mine and your resources by doing it in 1 hour We can upload it automatically to your site btw, so you just have to start a job and go to sleep.. Ok, that's a good question If you have no clue what a Google Sitemap is: Here are some sitemap resources but be sure to visit the first 2 links on that page, that will get you started.
Just to add to this thread once more: Spidering 5000 pages just takes some time. If you want things to be finished sooner, install our Live Package thingie that will send urls back to us as your users browse your site (using javascript). Side effect: we can identify more important pages from lesser imporatant ones and have better <priority> tages in your sitemap + your job will get a higher priority
