I have just started a new forum site (http://www.noagender.com) using Simple Machines Forum as the engine and just wanted some advice. I have added it to Google but do not know what to do now? Does anyone have any advice to help me make this forum show up better in the search results. I guess I need to amend the meta tags and things like that but I am worried that I might mess up some of the coding if I just try things randomly!
Well, to start you can setup seo friendly urls, just see the following url: http://chaos-laboratory.com/2007/08...ine-optimized-urls-for-simple-machines-forum/. I also suggest setting up a robots.txt file to disallow any sub-forums or directories you don't want crawled. Sitemap submissions and RSS feeds of your forum isn't a bad idea either.
Thanks very much. Does anyone know any forum directories or any specific ways of driving traffic to a forum?
