I have multiple domains, each with a web site and each with a Twitter account. I get emails telling me I have a new Twitter follower. But neither my Twitter page or Hoot Suite account shows the new follower. I could believe it could by new followers are those "fake" accounts, but the new followers are legit businesses that would have good reason to follow me. Any idea these new followers don't show up?
I changed the Quality filter. My Twitter accounts have to do with wines & wineries. The new followers who never show up are usually wineries. That what puzzles me. Usually I get positive results from wineries. Even those that don't follow me will like or reTweet one of my Tweets. Never had a negative response.
If it was BH, I'd say they were using a bot to do the follow/unfollow method, which they may still be doing manually to make sure they stay under the Twitter ceiling of follower/following ratio and caps.
I have an account with close to 95K in following. I almost always follow people back, so I'm good at keeping track of new followers. However, when I scroll back to the people that I already followed (a few days / weeks / months ago), I often see new followers among them that weren't there before. I don't why it happens and why some followers do not show up right away. That's probably what's messing up your stats / notifications.
I see this with bots / following programs They follow then unfollow very quickly It's pretty annoying....
