Since Google Chrome was released a lot of people were wonder how Firefox would deal with the competition, and this it seems could be it. Mozilla Labs have announced that Firefox Geode will be an automatically installed addition of Firefox 3.1. There haev been a few privacy concerns over htis, but Mozilla have anounced that the latest addon for firefox will give full control to the user about how much location information they give. This is great news for us publishers though, after all it will give us much more accurate Geo Location advertising capability, especially with tools such as Adult Friend Finder where near location pictures have a much higher click through rate! The technology will automatically pick up a location using Skyhook technology, a tool which can determine a users location by around 10-20 metres (Similair to the iPhone) For those using Yahoo you may also see increased advertising revenue, Yahoo's Fire Eagle will eb using the Firefox technology so I can't see it bein long before it is brought into the mainstream with the Yahoo Publisher Network!
