That is correct.Btw there is no need for tools to detect fake page rank,it is enough to type in google name of domain and see where it leads. If it leads to other domain then it's fake.Even if without www lead to www that can be considered fake also.
Why would leading from http ://domain.com to http ://www.domain.com be fake? It's not going to a subdomain, it's going to the same domain. Even google sees the two as the same domain.
My tool is detecting it as fake pagerank The PR is taken from the root domain, i.e. - osmirror.com http://www.rankalert.net/fake-pagerank.php?url=os2.osmirror.com No new kung-fu.. Same old wine..
using mcdar.net/dance/index.php and looking through the first URLs coming up show some as osmirror.com & some as os2.osmirror.com. Looks like goog is simply confused a bit across datacenters. I know certain tools only ping one datacenter to determine legitimacy so depending on that your mileage may very.
os2.osmirror.com cache shows the content from osmirror.com not os2.osmiror.com so the link buyers on os2.osmirror.com are not getting any value. I have been offered to purchase links on os2.osmirror.com but I don't think it has any value for traffic or PR. PR is an important part of the puzzle when determining advertisement buys. Traffic ranks are even easier to artificially boost.
sadly, people is always trying to fake things. i personally don't trust too much those sites showing page rank from other sites, i got domain research tool that i use for it and till now it has served me well.
I think you need to look closer. The cache content is from os2.osmirror.com though they look very similar.
Hi spaceman, you only have 6 posts and joined just this month. Most of your posts are regarding osmirror.com. Are you affiliated with osmirror.com? It is now - but it was not yesterday (even though the cache says july 30.) Also now os2.osmirror.com is showing as valid PR in some of the tools again - while you can see that several people have witnessed that for the last couple of days it was not. Some tools are still reporting it as fake pagerank. I'm guessing they either use different data centers or cache results? If I wanted to fake pagerank convincingly - I imagine that I would forward the domain just before an update then stop forwarding right after so that the cache was correct.
Hi, actually last month + 1 year. I'd guess that's why people saw different results. There's some kind of update in progress even if it's just updated indexing.
