New domain suggestions

Greetings,

What do you think of stating some advice to use on new domains?

For example:

Start building today, the sites of tomorrow. Even if your site is still in construction. Put a wordpress blog on it, add some more ping services, and write a good post per day. When you decide to really open your site, you will be out of the sandbox.

Buy generic domains, that can be used of other ways in the future. For example: In the past I bought many specific domains, but that isn't a good choice, if you see that business isn't good and decide to close it. The time and money that you spent with that domain, will be lost.
If you buy a generic domain, even when you close the old site, you can replace it with another one, keeping the age of the domain, links and it's PR.

What more tips can we give?

These 2 sites have a list of services to ping. If you mix the 2 lists, be sure to remove duplicated entries.

Now you just have to put them in your Wordpress or blog software, and each time you post, it will send a ping to them. Be sure to only ping once or twice a day...

 

try to buy all domain that you have plan to use in future, before someone buy it. and don't forget to use .com domain

 

That's right. For domain that I want to brand, I always register the plural and singular forms. For some I even register the hyphenated version.

For personal use, I no longer promote new domains that aren't .com
I have some good and old .net, that today I tear my hair off for don't having the .com ...
