Hi, I have few months site with PR0, backlinked only by directories (about 20), serp results 20-30 on my main keyword, top10-20 on long tail, about 10-20 UV daily. I have a new domain, so I wonder, what would be better: - to redirect it from old one, - or make a page with some unique content on the topic and give a one big link to it. What do you think is better, from the SEO point of view?
from the seo point of view i believe that the best way if you are moving domains is to do a 301 redirect to the new website. Google will follow this link and allow it to share pagerank. Unfortunantly this is how people try to also cheat the search engines. Although on top of the 301 redirect i would recommend going to the directories that link to you and modifying the link. Good Luck with your new campaign!
Definitley 301 redirect, as people will make it to your original site but might not follow through to your new domain. I have had to do this a couple of times and have always ahd the best results with a redirect.
yep, these responses got it right. 301 the new site unless you plan on making a pretty trustworthy website out of the new domain to link to your existing one. If you try to set up a shell of a site on the new domain and link to the old one, google will surely see through that and drop the PR of your newly acquired domain.
