So, currently I run the site http://getcredit365.net - as you can see the domain is getcredit365.net

I have the opportunity to buy a domain with much better keywords, its to the point with some SEO work I believe I could dominate the entire keyword because the domain has all the keywords in it..

Anyway, what would you do, currently getCredit365.Net has a 0 PR, some backlinks, mostly from DP and WF, 1 from Aviva Directory, etc. I think the domain is about.... 40-50 days old

    Would you:
    A. Keep getCredit365.Net and setup the new domain as a 301 to the main site
    B. Rebrand the site with the new domain cause its so much better and just have getCredit365.Net 301 to the new one
    C. Suggestions?

ALSO! - How can I find out if this domain has been banned by SE's? I tried the Wayback machine, it has no results, Google doesnt have any results, it looks like its just been parked since Sept 06

    getcredit365.net is a young name
so it wouldn't take to much work to get the new
name to the level that greatcredit365 is currently at
plus you have the seo advantage of the new domain

so 301 the current one to the new one

I will definitely do that, granted I can find out if the domain is banned for not, I just want to be careful - Does anyone know of a way to check if a domain is banned, it looks like its been parked since Sept 06 and doesnt have any results on Wayback Machine or Google...

In my experiments with 301 I'm convinced that if you 301 old domain to new one .. the PR and rating are transfered in about 90% to the new one. Which is quite good.

A trick is to buy big websites in your keyword area and put 301 to your main website :) ha ha ha .. this is the best booster you can get.

    Cheers,

    Venetsian.

Well, it turns out the name that was available fell through, I was however able to find another name that I believe is comperable...

The name I got is compare-credit-card.org

For the search term, "compare credit card" this would do pretty well correct? With some SEO I think this could be very strong considering the keyterms are directly in the URL... Any opinions?

I think it is worth to buy new domain name and rebrand it since you have mentioned your current site has PR#0 and its only 40-50 days old.

Im planning to, but do you think the domain I mentioned above "compare-credit-card.org" is a good domain to do it with?

Even with hyphens I should still do well because it has the keyphrase that im looking to optimize for "compare credit card" correct?

Another for vote for a 301.

You're just starting out. Think long term, and go with the better domain name.

I agree with you guys regarding the 301, however, considering the domain I was going after is no longer available, do you see the domain I just bought: compare-credit-card.org a worth while domain to use or should I look for a better one?

The one I was going to buy before but cant now is comparecreditcard.net
