I want to start Video site(youtube type) for a community. I already own an entertainment portal on that community. Should I get a new domain or use current domain which has PR4. Pros to start a new domain is I can create a unique brand. I need ideas guys thanks in advance
Pros to having a unique domain: Better brand building potential, like you said. Easier for people to bookmark, or stumbleupon. One thing to keep in mind. The video script that you use, probably some type of php, make sure it is secure. My friend owns bird cinema . com, it recently got hacked. And they weren't backing up their data. Now their user base has totally gone down. So I think either way, if you can keep your visitors happy, you could go either way with or without the domain.
Unless you're thinking on selling the community OR the video site seperate I'd keep them both on the same domain. Create a subdomain for the video site: video.community.com
