    Hi --

I have a blog at mydomain.com/blog. Would it be better to buy a new domain, like mydomainblog.com, and then send all the traffic from the continually updating stuff into www.mydomain.com?

    Thanks!

mydomain will be fine , not really required for you to put a blog unless its a blog specific site just for blogging

If you don't want to buy a new domain, just make it a sub-domain like blog.mydomain.com, this is seen as another site in Google's eyes and you can also list it in directories that do not allow deep linking. You can also give back links to the other main site.

It depends on how much you want to pursue to the blog. If it is just a way for you to give updates, just have it as blog.xxx.com, but if it is something that you hope to make big and put a lot of details and valuable info into, I'd buy a separate domain.

    I am selling WebBlog.cc

In long term, I suggest you own a domain,

Do you interested in it ?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks

thanks everyone. so for a followup question:

every page on my main site links to the blog. the blog will link back to my index page if i make it a subdomain. cool, cool.

is it better to change all the links in my main site to point to blog.mydomain.com, or should i leave them and make a 301 redirect from mydomain.com to blog.mydomain.com?

    does it matter?

    thanks!
