Hi, just submitted one of my sites. You are added to my list of web directories as well :)

so now to the review: the site seems to have a nice layout and it's not JUST a directory. why do you use different phrases like "what's hot" and "what's cool"? it's a little confusing!

What makes you say it is SEF? The links are not direct...

Why should they be direct? Changing redirection link to use sites name as a variable would enough no? Otherwise, how do you track hits to the site? It's not crap, it's a very nice site, I like clean colors and easy navigation.

No, the variable in a redirect won't help at all. The only way I know of to count hits would be to use javascript like PHP Link Directory. Otherwise, you'd need to drop the hit counting.

I don't want to bring the thread offtopic, but how does having your site stuffed with outbound links to unrelated sites help you? Not trying to be funny, just curious.

lol though you were not trying to be funny... i have to laugh (but not at you, i swear!) anyway redirecting links is nothing for SEO, and when a dir claims to be seo friendly, it MUST have DIRECT links to the sites in order to provide link popularity. javascript can be used for tracking clicks as well as mystikmedia mentioned. and having no outbound links is not good for a site that receives inbound links! ever seen DMOZ or site-sift or yahoo redirecting links? that would mean nothing to most sites then! there's no use in the world of SEO and SEM today!!

Yeah, but that's benefitial for the submitter, not the owner of the directory.

I think you don't get the point of search engine marketing, so I better say nothing anymore now

@sebastianrs: well, you throwned some obvious things at me and now your running away. How is having direct links on your directory going to benefit YOU, not make the webmasters happy which is obvious. Gain more submissions? Well, actually, fery few people compared to the whole visitors such sites get are aware of backlink importance. I'm not rude, but please answer the questions if your stating something and don't run away saying 'ok, I'm right, your not.'

    first, i didnt say that.
second, who said im running away?
third, you just might have asked me why i claimed that, but instead you stated your opinion once again without arguments... up to now for our sake ;)

... well you may be right that not all do know about the importance of backlinks, but i dont expect someone who isnt aware of that to visit an almost empty directory and who takes the time to submit to the appropriate category without seeing any purpose !? whereas webmasters that know about seo see the purpose of a non-established directory.

so and as long as the site contains contents beside the directory, it has potential to grow and for this it needs links to other sites as the search engine will find it a little strange if one site has absolutely no outbound links, but some inbound! such a side might be considered a site that does not want to provide its visitors with resources related to its niche !! don't you think so?
