Hi everyone it seems that everyone is in to this directory lark so i thought id give it a go and was wondering if you guys could give me some tips and if possible some site wide link exchanges (which would go in our Partners section) I know its a lot to ask for a newbie but i really eager to learn the ways of Directory GURU's lol. Hello mate well yeah i was thinking of a small fee directory to start with and free for Reciprocal links. I haven't got a lot of $$$ at this time but enough to get some good links to the site. Ive been told that i should try and ask people to have my site listed on there confirmation emails on there directories ? is this a good start .

RiverWire, i see you have went for pounds and not dollars, something i would like to do myself in future directories.
yeah with other projects (non directories) ive done people look at the pound e.g £2 and still see it as $2 's ? but the £ is worth nearly double the $ so i got more for what they thought was still a bargain For some reason even english websites/directories stick with the $ because they are scared to buck the trend but i think there should be more people using the pound its stronger and english people still see it as cheap
Thats what i was thinking too recently, its kinda tough when your losing half of what you get isn't it. My current directories i will leave set at $ but my future ones il definately go for pounds, hopefully it shouldn't affect sales too much.
Yeah well if i ever get this directory off the ground and running well ill let you know how things go, im sure it wont affect things much it may make sales drop slightly but you'd prob earn more money out of the sale that you do generate.

I'm glad you've gone for a niche/regional directory. I've been coming up blank trying to find enough directories to meet my specifications in a particular niche lately. There really aren't enough in certain topic areas.
Just for the recored everyone, site/directories that are 1. Not finished (established) 2. not in the deepest category (unless paid for,or approved by me prior) 3. Look like adsense sites or other cheap and tacky sites. Only quality sites will be accepted. After an influx of 40 directories over night that were practically the same unfinished and just with different templates on i feel i have to explain this. Thanks everyone
