I went back through some of the more recent announcements regarding new general web directories where I had some free listings accepted and submitted some Featured Listings last night to offer a bit of support and to say thanks to the directory owners.

I was pleasantly surprised to find some great prices for permanent and annual listings. A number of the submissions were added within a matter of minutes even though it was a Sunday night, and most were added within a reasonable amount of time, less than 12 hrs.

Kudos to these directory owners - I must say that my experience dealing with you was great.

    Dirmoz Web Directory Dirmoz.com
    iPage.info Web Directory iPage.info
    Free Web Directory Dir2U.com
    Directory Rank DirectoryRank.com
    TheHyperlinks.com TheHyperlinks.com
    BuzzNick Online Directory BuzzNick.com
    Enono Business Direcotry Enono.net
    SEO Business Directory SEOBusinessDirectory.com
    Anewdir Web Directory Anewdir.com
    Text Link Exchange LinkExchanged.us
    IM Directory IMDirectory.net
    eYellowPage.net Directory eYellowPage.net
    WebnWeb Directory WebnWeb.info
    Free Links Directory FreeLinksDirectory.net

I have a couple of links pending, but I won't disclose in which directories as it would not be fair as no terms were posted and I don't know the reason for the delay.

Off to find a few more directories to submit some Featured Listings to. :)

Kudos to DP for providing us with this section of the forums as well!

A good number of these guy seem to be up to par with new directories. It's the long run that I would be concerned with. I find myself second guessing....is this guy just here for a quick buck, or does this guy really want to run a directory. So far so good though, and time will only tell. I do wish everyone much luck with their directories though :D

Nope, mostly newer directories - PR0 - PR5 I'd guess. Not looking for PR, just trying to support some of the newer directories I came across in hopes they'd be around for a while longer.

As an0n mentioned - good luck to all with their directory projects!

    I am owner of
SEO Business Directory and thanks to CReed for this thread..

Mine is a brand new directory - Just 3 days old, having nearly 127 links listed in that..

I started with a free listing offer, but filtered the sites to be approved.. It was not just approving from the pending list.. Personally checked the sites and approved sites which I felt worth to be listed..

Now regular listings are for a low price of 2$, but again I still have approved few good sites for free, as I felt its good to have them listed..

As all webmasters aim money including me, my personal sites are secondary in earning to me as I have a regular day job as an SEO. I am looking for earnings from this directory in longer run.

So if you feel yours is a good useful site, dont hesitate in submitting. Return link and payment is optional.. If the site is good enough, it will be listed for sure..

    Thank you..

Thank you for the kind comments.

I've found the solicitations forum to be quite indespensible. I monitor it frequently to add quite a few sites I have to new directories. The PR isn't important, I prefer to get into the new directories.

Uh check what? Was your site with N/A rank and not on google than i rejected it i guess cause i do not want to take chances and get a blacklisted listed site on directory.

Anyways going to cross 700 mark just need 4 more links and its not even 10 days since i launched ::)

    CReed,
Thanks for including http://www.directoryrank.com in your list.

I try to approve all sites within 12 hours. Many are approved within a few hours. I check new submits several times per day.

The site is new, has a predicted PR of 3 (I know these tools are bogus, but there is some validity to them). I am in the process of submitting the site to 300+ directories.

I can empathize with an0n. I too am skittish to pay for new directories.

I have a network of 30+ sites (some since 1998), so I am here for the long run. I built my directory to make a buck or 2, and drive some traffic and PR to my other sites.

Thanks for posting my site up.

Just want to note that the Enono Business Directory is about a year old with a PR6 home page and PR4 inner pages. And the rates ain't bad for that kind of rank.

Thanks for including my directory http://ipage.info on the list, CReed! :)

I try to approve sites as promptly as I can, although it can take a while for some because I take the time to visit each site and edit/correct errors in the descriptions, etc.

My directory is just a few weeks old, but I spent a lot of time working on the design and adding mods, etc. and I'm devoting time on promoting it and submitting to directories, and I can assure you that it's not going to just disappear anytime. :)

Thank you for the support! :D

Nice list. I had already placed links in most of those, including paid listings. A couple I had missed though. Yes, most are new but I have no problem buying a listing in a new PR 0 directory if I think it has great potential grow. And the owners are likely to use the few bucks you give them to help promote their site, ultimately helping you since you have sites listed.

You sure you submitted for featured listing cause unless i recieve payment via paypal i do not accept any featured site, can you tell me url which you tried to submit? I have around 5 featured listed sites each belong to mystikmedia guy here on dp and one belongs to habba(something like that) on sbclansite. I had issues initially with mystikmedia guy as by mistake i deleted his site as it was giving me N/A pr message, but after checking paypal i had to correct myself and asked him to resubmit without making payment this time and now its featured.

So send me pm with the url you tried to submit and to which site you tried to submit. I will look into paypal account and if payment has been made i have no issue.

    Cheers
