That building doesn't exactly scream "poverty and hunger".

The restaurant that got me sick was also quite upscale.

Chinese Singaporeans are equally "much together", and they manage to maintain proper hygiene.

Only Chennai, which is probably where I will go again. I do owe Ashwin a visit. Or... maybe I'll talk him into a road trip! That guy works too hard. :D

But next time... no salads... no uncooked foods of any type. I am too old for the stomach fire again.

Which is the filthiest metro in the country basically because I guess the climate discourages hygiene, even I wouldn't visit that place. :p

Aaah yes, Chennai has the most humid climate! Haven't been there myself. Will..seriously, try Rajasthan, Goa or Kerela...or the hill stations like Simla, Manali, Dharamsala (maybe you can explain atheism to the Dalai Lama here) to better enjoy your stay. I would have said that the capital, i.e. Delhi warrants a visit if it wasn't so badly dug up for the commonwealth games.

Places near the sea are humid, and people in Chennai are not any less hygenic than people I've seen from other parts of the country.

Chennai is a lot cleaner than Mumbai and Delhi.

You should firstly not be talking about the climate when you've not visited, Delhi isn't paradise on earth either.

Rajasthan, Goa and Kerala are infested with tourists, and they're probably not great places to go and see the real beauty of the country, I would encourage trekking the Shivaliks and visiting the North East.

But, knowing Will - he's probably just going to want to spend time with his laptop in the hotel suite.

No no when did I say Delhi is paradise..dude take a chill pill. My girlfriend is from Chennai..she herself tells me how humid the place is. Delhi has terribly hot summers too, but its not the kind of sticky heat that you'd see in Mumbai (I've lived there) and Chennai. Chandigarh is supposed to be the cleanest in India Delhi has many more options for a tourist than Chennai does, thats what I meant in my post.
