Please review our new website; www.mylivingclock.com. mylivingclock is a fun, free project that takes a different perspective on time. Basically, it's a cryptic clock that changes to reveal a new image/photo every minute of the day. All the while remaining insync with the time on the users PC. Viewers can send in their photos, get them published and have their minute in time. And it totally free. Still a work in progress and we need more photos, so please pass on our details if you like the idea. www.mylivingclock.com
Nice idea ! I think the site already great.. I do not have the picture to be submitted though Maybe in the near future I will sent ones
Hi mickeymcg, you website is very simple! Make it in more professional style! Website has no logo, no header and no structure! Text style should be changed! However, all website blocks are placed accurately! Work mpre on website design and structure and make it more professional!
I disagree with 3dprofonline, your website design is OK. I'm not sure if the concept can grow beyond micro niche though, so in your shoes I wouldn't invest too much time or money in it. This is more of an online art installation than a website, the sort of thing people in academia or the arts might do, try positioning it as such and it might get legs.
Thanks for the comments, we intend keeping this website totally free and are not interested in making any $ of it. It's just a fun project, a 'no brainer' that we can add to our portfolio, so we won't be putting too much time into it. It's still a work in progress however, and when we get a spare few minutes, we intend tidying it up a bit more. Appreciate comments from others
This is one of the cooler concepts/sites I've seen in awhile - very cool. And I'll probably be submitting some photos soon (lol) - tempting to be able to actually fill in some slots! Cool site, nicely laid out, and something of interest that stands out. Nice work!
Thanks for the positive comments, yer send in your photos, we'd love to see'm. We intend to keep the site as a non-profit but if anyone out there can help get it out on the internet to share with others, we'd greatly appreciate it. We just thought the idea wouldbe a cool, fun thing to do. Please keep the comments and images coming. Thanks again
I have two words for you: Facebook App actually, two more: Iphone/pod app Brilliant and please take the above seriously, you have some potential there. If you really want to be non-profit about it, pick a nice cause and make it part of the art, but there is some cash to be made or at least a whole lot of traffic. I honor your choice to be free, but consider the good you might do. There's a member here who raises funds for a homeless agency in AU, if that interests your group. Ironic that with all these hacks here grubbing after busybucks, the guys with the million-dollar idea don't see dollar signs at all. My hats off.
Definitely different, the website is simple yet clean in design. I like it. There is always room for growth though.
Thanks guys and thank you for your kind words amanamission. Firstly, our teams web developers experience is limited and you'll never hear me say I know it all. Sorry, but I don't know what a Facebook and Iphone app is but I can assume it something to link-up with Facebook extra. I have a Sharethis icon on our website that gives the viewer the option to send it to their Facebook, MySpace contacts etc. is that it? I'd love it if someone could make-up a Vista gadget or screensaver that pulls images from the clock. I'm sure it would be nothing for someone that knows how... In all honestly, it would be great not to have a mortgage but hey... you need to be happy too . At this stage, not interested in the cash, but I'd love a whole lot of traffic, if you or anyone else can help? Thans again
Facebook App: an application designed to work with Facebook pages. This is not simply a "share-this", which may or may not spread this to FB users. These are extremely popular, although I can't say if a similar concept is in use. If it is, the value is somewhat lower, but still worthwhile. http://www.facebook.com/apps/ The main revenue stream is ad display on the Facebook App download page. You distribute the app for free and put a little social networking behind it to get the ball rolling. There are members here who know much more about this than I do, but I believe it would be simple to integrate your existing software. The key would be making something for users to put on Facebook pages. Even better if it works with MySpace, etc. The principle is the same for iPod/Phone (they are the same product), except that here you'd want to customize for use on a mobile device, compatible with the OS; again, others know more about this than I do. The app can be free (bunch of mobile-based traffic) or for $5 or so. Apple has a store for this purpose. http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/appstore/ The point is, here are two venues for this type of unique media display, both explosively powerful. If this doesn't already exist, this could get a buzz. I hear promoting on Twitter is the thing to do. All I know is that if you made this tool, porting it shouldn't be hard. There are loads of amateurs writing these apps.
Sounds like you know a lot more about this stuff that what I do. Had a quick look at the link, ta. Would it be possible to put me in touch with someone that know how to make these applications, or does anyone else know that can provide some input? Thanks again
Thanks again, yer I know it needs a little work. I was considering creating a a username/registration script so users can upload the images themselves. However, this creates other problems regarding what images are uploaded and the quality of the images. I'll keep at it. Glad you like the idea
