I've just received this via Yahoo Messenger from a friend:

    Download free MP3s : http|//termex18388.googlepages.com/index.html <<

A new dangerous computer virus that can destroys all your data has just been released . Click here to know how to avoid it : http|//www.geocities.co.jp/ie_protector <<

(replace | with : for links)

I've already reported it but it gives me something to think about..

At this time and age, it really isn't hard for some competitor to create a virus, a random page on some free hosting and place google ads with your adsense on that site.. actually he wouldn't even have to bother with a virus.

Shouldn't Google at least verify from time to time pages that have not been previously checked by them during account creation ? Or, do they care?

if that happen it will be your problem, Google already said you must avoid bad neighborhoods, that means DO not post your links on places where people hates you, like forums, chat or things like that, so be always nice and good luck .

I was thinking more like "Hey check this site .. i'm trying for ages to be #1 on Google for "myspace thingie" and he just made this site a week ago and is #1.. this pisses me off ..i'll take care of his Google account" ...

Not a bad neighbourhood, he was nice.. nothing to do about it..
