I recently created a content management system which I need feedback on. It can be found at https://creationshare.com/ . You can create a website instantly to play around with its features, but here are a few demos: - http://forum.creationlaunch.com/ - http://blog.creationlaunch.com/ Feedback? What I need right now is opinions, so feel free to compliment or criticize.
Thanks for sharing. What about the additional functionalities in the form of plugins? Do you create them yourself or the community would contribute?
I've found that anything, computer software, garden tool, vehicle, that claims to do all things, does them all equally poorly. In over 40 years in this business I've never found an all-in-one program that could compare to individual programs.
Both. I plan to offer as many additional features as possible, while allowing people to create their own additions. That's a problem which we all need to fix. A good example of how this can work is a computer. Just take a look at a laptop. You have a single system, with integrated keyboard, monitor, mouse, harddrive, and computer. The operating system works fine, and ships with most of the essentials, such as a web browser, email client, address book, calendar and word processing. Sure, you have to download some software, but that software is designed to work with the platform. vBulletin and Wordpress will run on the same computer, but they do not share a common login system. That's like dual-booting Windows and Linux, which is an inconvenience which no one should have to deal with. I intend to implement a similar model for the web, where I implement enough for someone to operate a full website, (just like Microsoft and Apple provide the essentials) and allow third party developers do the rest.
I;ve changed the website design substantially. Check it out at https://creationshare.com/ Customers now have access to in-depth statistics about their website's viewership, including hour by hour and day by day summaries of view counts and user demographics. If you've visited the website before, you may need to clear your cache.
