New Client of OptiGold

    Hello to the Forum.
    Im James, a system admin for a WISP.
    We have been looking to migrate our billing database to OptiGold. OG looks very nice for the money.

    Question.
    1. What date was the last OG update; when is next update?
    (it looks to me like Jan 17 2006 was last update)


    2.Will Filemaker 8.x be in the next update.


    3. Based on the demeanor of this Forum,
    Question: as a WISP, we need to grow and what if in 6-month to a year if DP no longer supports OG, is there a way to get more client licenses?

    4. Support for plug-ins, like for CC authorization and nettools, is there still support for these features?


    Our Main concern is future support and OG life span; do you think we can use OptiGold for five years minimum?

    Don't get me wrong... because I do love Optigold..

    But if you're just getting started in something, run the other way.

    The support is near non-existent, no updates in a year or more, and no
    promises, at all, of when the new release will be out.

    Well Shawn answers the phone, as a "Sales Manager" but also answers the "Support line" so you be the judge. He claims on the website to be trying to "help the little guy". Oh, how humble a mission. His precanned responses to reality:

    F1 key = "I don't know"
    F2 key = "You'll have to email..."
    F3 key = "I don't know how you get a key"

    I have been trying to get a key for 3 weeks & after speaking to him twice, he has lost any potential referrals from me. He simply will not provide the key to open demo version of OptiGold & acted as if that was someone else's job!

    If he thinks for a minute that I will recommend a $1000 program to my peers, think again!
