Maybe it is just a bad period for some people as there appears to be no problem when you check the "system log" in your account. There was only maintenance on the 3rd of Jan.
There have been an update on "2008-01-08" - Installments - an Additional ClickBank Payment Alternative! ....And since then the drop in sales started. Looks like this update screwed something in the old checkout
How can an optional system upgrade change people's conversions? If you're not getting sales quit crying about it and start doing something about it
Very Good Question. But What would you think if you have had an avarage steady sales of 50 per day for a long time, promoting various different products in different niches, and then suddenly the sales drop to 0 or 1 sale per day? - Its not market fluke since the holidays have passed. - Its not a product that is not converting anymore because you have more than one products in different markets and even if you stop one or even some of them, the others sales should keep coming. - Its not your visitors quality since they are targeted adwords visitors and the hops in are the same with the same exact hits. Then you noticed that the same exact day the sales dopped, clickBank did a update to the system, in particular the payment system where if its not done correctly it would 100% explain all of the above. You will also nitice that this drop in sales affected others as well...not everyone but still others are in the same situation......so what would you do if you this happen to you "popedope" ? (apart from contacting clickbank to tell you everything is fine without even checking anything with a copy and paste answer that they always send to affilates)
Haven't really seen any drop in sales, actually they've been rising quite a bit the last couple weeks...
Well my sales are approaching double what they were last pay-check period. I'm getting quality leads and sending through to the same pages as before. If something's affecting sales - CB will do something about because it directly affects them. I personally think you're experiencing something wrong with your marketing, although I can't be dfinite without the full picture. Without testing you cannot just "blame" something because it happened on the same time. You're assuming that because the holidays are over, sales should be normal. What if they aren't? What if word has gotten round that your site stinks? What if the publisher has changed their page?
Well if the sales had been decreasing over 2 weeks, i could understand that. But it went from 6 sales a day to 0 sales a day instantly, and nothing was changed on my publisher's page.
I would test this a little longer and see what happens... Sales will most likely kick back up if you were making 6 per day..
The exact thing happened to me, sudden drop and nothing have changed. If this thing dosent affected everyone, dose'nt mean that who got affected is crazy and a fool. Common! a little bit of common sence, im not blaming anyone or anything but something have happened for sure at some point. Its not something like a newbie screwed something in his campaign and is blaming clickbank because he dosent know a da** what he did. Its something that suddenly quite a few people got effected with it. There must be something, things like this dosent just happen by themselves.
Probably they got some problems that makes affiliate links disabled sometimes That's why you are getting less sales, than usual.
Exilus & Web18designer - are you both advertising the same product(s)? Have you contacted CB about the issue?
I dont think so, but i advertise around 10 different products in different niches and they all got effected. I contacted clickbank but that didnt helped much since they replied with: "If you are not currently finding success, you may wish to consider altering your advertising campaign. Here are a few ways some of our affiliates advertise: you can put ads in online magazines, you can put ads in online classifieds, you can advertise on Google or other search engines. Some affiliates even take out ads in newspapers or market via direct mail." ......Looks like a reply i would give to a newbie that asked for affilate marketing tips & not someone that have had steady sales for so long and then the sales stopped just without any apparent reason....
