I just launched a new product and affiliate program on Clickbank. The Ultimate Cookbook Collection is a CD-Rom that contains 20 cookbooks filled with tried and true recipes. The collection of cookbooks is also available as an instant download. Every order comes with some free bonuses. This cookbook collection sells for $20.00. Affiliates paid 45% of each sale. Tracking and payments are handled by Clickbank. View Sales Page: http://www.20cookbooks.com Affiliate Info: http://20cookbooks.com/affiliates/cd.html
I think that NONE of the affiliates will sell any product, including this one, for 45% out of $20. I think with this offer, this product is doomed not to work.
I would tend to agree...I'm not going to spend my time promoting any product that brings me less than $8 in revenue unless it converts very well with high volume.
I hate to be "just another 3rd opinion" but most of the vendors in the health/food/diet industry offer at least 65% commission and have a product valued more than $20.00. And just by taking a quick look at your sales page, I don't see anything that convinces me to buy the product, you just offer a bunch of random cookbooks, you should design your sales page that solves a problem your visitors have or find a way to create demand or hype for your product. I could get 20 cookbooks at a garage sale for a pocket change.
You need to decide if you want to earn 55% of nothing (which is what you will currently earn from affiliate sales) or realisticly 25% of 20$. if i were you i would go for the second option because 25% of 20 seems to me like more money then 55% of 0 (at least this is what my math teacher once told me) Cheers
My advice it to try ad more stuff to your product and up the price. Look at it from an affiliate point of view: It takes just the about the same amount of work to promote a product that pays 75% of $49. So why should they promote your product for 45% of $20?? See what I am saying?
I appreciate everyones feedback. I have raised the affiliate commission to 65% of each sale. I am going to rework the sales page a bit and add more content to the package as well.
Yea do that and increase the price. Maybe try $27 or $29 because 65% of $20 is still very little for peoples time and effort.
Thanks for the suggestions. I started with 20 because I felt it was an attractive price for the consumer. I am going to add more content to my package and then increase the price to 29 most likely. Any more feedback is greatly appreciated.
If you believe it is a good product charge $40. people see value in products as compared to price. Just think when you buy a TV. You see one for $500 but you know it is junk so you buy the one for $800. People are trained to think the more expensive, the better the product. You should at the vary least TEST different price points....you may be surprised on what brings in more conversions!
