A few days ago I submitted a post for people to submit there site for free, yet many commented that there was not a category for them to submit to. So I rebuilt the entire directory and added some better categories.

Check it out and tell me what you guys think. As stated the first time we will only accept 10 sites per category. And please do not submit the same website more than once even if it is to a page under a different category, if you do we will select the page that we think is the best.

Sign up at www.index-it.net and click on the details link.

For those that have already signed up thanks again, we may have moved your site to more relevant category so you may want to check to see where your site is listed now.

IMO, your site needs some usability work. I finally found the submit links, but it should not have anchor text of "Index It". No one knows that means submit. I get it what you had in mind with the whole "Index It" theme of your site, but when people are looking for the submit link, they are not analyzing and thinking in that way. So, you should definitely rename that to something like Submit. Also, I see this note: "*These categories are free, but requires a link back to www.index-it.net.", but the submit form does not seem to provide the ability to submit using a reciprocal link option. Lastly, $9/month is insane for a link on your site. :) It would not too much for even a featured link, much less a standard link. Please don't take this hard. I am just providing you my opinion in an effort to help. Feel free to take it or leave it.

Finally, someone who is not afraid to post their opinion. I respect your opinion very much and it is more than helpful. Your right about the Index it link for people to submit their url. And because of that I will change it. As far as the price goes we are not willing to change that just yet, we have a certain plan in mind if it does not go well then we will change the price, however we will always charge a monthly fee due to the fact that we do not and will not ever accept featured listing on our directory.

We Believe every company should have a chance to be at the top. Will we be big as Yahoo or dmoz maybe not, but everyone knows that you do not submit your site to directories for traffic, but so that you can get a good backlink to your website and hopefully some good pr.

We are not afraid to do what ever it takes to make sure that this directory becomes successful even if it means spending a little. Which is why we posted this directory with both the Small business directory and Yahoo directory (should be listed soon).

For those that are having trouble finding the link to submit to here is a short cut.

If you are submitting a blog go to this page http://www.index-it.net/free.html

If you want to sign up for the free listing go to this page http://www.index-it.net/freeindex.html

Offer for free listing will expire July 22, 2006. Only 10 sites per category will be accepted.

    Thanks for your response.

I have submitted some of my sites using the temporary free option; thank you. Best of luck with your plan. I hope it works out the way you have in mind.
