Good day to everybody. We started our adWorks campaign last Friday and until today it only had 131 Imp. and no Click. I did ask google and they provided me with the information that our keywords are too special to get reasonable hits. We are manufacturing suspension technology for vehicles and started (just to see how it works) with 15 Euro daily budget and 0.10 CPC. Our keywords are: motorcycle, suspension, shocks and fork springs (when creating the ad campaign, however the estimator said our ads would be between position 4 and 6 on page one, I guess). I think that there are only two options open now: first to increase our CPC (we were not even listed in the first 50 ads-field) and second to find ourselves other, more specific keywords. Am I right on those two solutions or do I miss a genious solution which might draw loads of customers to our site? Any help form you guys would be much appreciated. Thank you Dirk
Yes the two options you mentioned should improve your traffic. Improving your bids is the easiest way to boost your positioning and the more specific the ad is the less competition there should be meaning a higher positioning and lower bid but lower traffic. Also try improve the relevance of your ad text to the keywords to raise your quality score. You may need to use several AdGroups to do this. And which matching options are you using? I would suggest using exact so that you get the best possible CTR but as you are looking to improve the amount clicks it may also be worth adding phrase and broad match options too.
It sounds like you haven't done a good job researching your keywords. Try using the Overture/YSM keyword suggestion tool.
