New Campaign- Bad quality score - should I start from scratch?

I experimented with a lot of misspellings ect to build my keyword list. I have a horrible quality score and all my bids are jumping up.

My keyword list is at about 25,000

My plan for today is to build a more targeted keyword list and start over from scratch. Is that a good strategy? Anyone here have a better strategy to use?

That is a very good strategy. The more targeted the better!

It's a good idea if "starting from scratch" includes a whole new account. If it's just a new campaign then the keyword history will still be there and will follow those keywords into the new campaign.

Whatever you do, pace yourself. 25K keywords will wear you out writing pay per click ads for each one of those (including singular and plural versions). I would have to just set a goal to do X number a day. I think I would start another account and have both accounts open at the same time. You'll have to use two different browsers though. Good luck.

    Thanks for the advice.

    well as it stands....

I have made about 10 different campaigns
    901 clicks and a 0.02 ctr %
I know it's pretty bad. I experimented with .10 clicks that were not the most targeted keywords. I'm glad I did this for the learning experience. Beleive it or not, I made about $110.00 in conversions, so I didn't lose money.

Am I too deep in a hole to keep this account going ? I was going to delete the campaigns and try to start a new campaign with strategies to get a high ctr, is it too late at 901 clicks?

If I am too deep in a hole, would I need a different credit card to start a new "clean" adwords account?

create different campaigns and this time try optimizing it by learning from the faults you did in the previous campaigns.

Create a new campaign, choose relevant keywords, write a relevant Ad and point your Ad at the relevant page in your website.

When your looking at the account, don't look at the clicks to figure out the history, look at the impressions. Remember the CTR is based on clicks divided by impressions, so you need to see how many of those impressions have taken place.

based on the information you've provided I'm guessing you have over 4 million impressions, so you've definitely built history on that account for those keywords.

I think you can save the account it's just going to take some time. However if you do want to start clean, go with the new account. You should be able to do it with the same credit card, but if you want to just avoid any hassle, just try a new one if you can.

I think you got toooooo many keywords. Choose keywords that are HIGHLY relevant to what you are advertising.

Delete general keywords, because they bring you a lot of irrelevant clicks, that don't convert.

With less keywords, you got more control over campaign, so you can easily optimize it and amend any mistakes.
