It seems that the new Making People Bump Your Threads for More Information announcement rules in the sales forums are a bit contradicting to the iTader policy.

On the iTrader page it is said that I cannot use it unless I provide a thread URL where I have participated.

On the other hand the new bumping policy says I cannot just post SOLD or PM me the details etc on the sales thread. However I have noticed that without leaving any such short comment before/after a sale, there is not much more to write if the sale is handled through PMs.

So could you please clarify if we are allowed to leave iTrader if sale is handled through PM only, and what to do in such case? Or if we are required to post something in the sales thread after a PM sale has been made.

You can give itrader to the thread starter, without posting in the thread and the thread starter can also give itrader to you.

^I think, thats not what he is asking. It is possible to exchange iTraders, but if there is no post made by the buyer or seller in the thread, and if all the deal has done via PM, then there will be no public proof the deal has taken place between the two. So if those guys exchange iTraders, then it appears such that atleast one among them has not participated in the thread/deal and eventually, his/her account will be terminated.

    ...correct me if i'm wrong.

Policies are clear, if you participate in a thread you can give iTrader but you cannot post in the thread "thanks" or similar worthless replies, as you can't either leave iTrader feedback for any thread under Freebies as those offers don't count toward iTrader's trustworthy.

    participation doesn't necessarily mean posting.
i have quite a few iTraders from others where i did not post in the thread, but i did participate in the deal.

i have also given many iTraders where the person did not post in my thread, but we did a deal.

if you have something worthy to post, then by all means post, just make sure the post has some value to it, something that will help others form an opinion on the product or service being offered.

having said that, use your best judgement when posting responses in threads.

Answer is covered in this thread and numerous other threads below this one.

You do not have to POST in the thread to exchange iTrader. You just need to participate in it.
