Hey there, I'm interested in starting up a blog with the hopes of using PayU2Blog or like website for advertising. Where's the best place to start? Is Blogger.com a good website to use? What's the advantages/disadvantages to purchasing a domain and using that just for blogging? How much is a feasible amount to be making from blogging? Thanks for any help!
I suggest you purchase a domain and self-host a wordpress blog to get started. Also, why just go after PayU2Blog? You can most likely earn much more promoting affiliate programs, selling ad space, or using something like adsense. (you can combine these methods to make the most)
IIRC, blogger.com doesn't allow paid blogging on their sites, so you'd probably do well do find your own host. As far as how much money you can make... the market has sharply declined because Google now removes PR from many blogs doing paid blogging. People that were making 2k/month in August are now lucky to make 15/week . I just opened another window and looked at the listings of one of the larger paid blogging sites. I saw a lot offers of $5 per post if your blog has a PR4, and one offer of $125 if you have a PR9. There are other listings between those two, but most of them are much closer to the lower end of the scale than they were before the Google PR changes. The good news is that the site is now accepting any blogs that are 30 days old or more with 10 posts, so it's much easier to get accepted than it was last year. I also saw that they're also giving away $1,000 on Tuesdays, so maybe you want to get your blog submitted and approved so you can have a chance to win some of that money. Personally, I think Crynos gave great advice and the best way to make money online is to try a variety of methods, and not just stick to one way or the other.
